Beauty Box 5 was a box I signed up for on a whim, after reading a stellar review on another blog. I wasn’t exactly disappointed with my box, but it wasn’t stellar either, so this is the only one I’ll be getting – I’ve cancelled my subscription after one month. At $12.00/month for the same general amount of product as a Birchbox or ipsy, I just wasn’t impressed. That’s not to say that someone else might love it though!
My favorite item out of the box is definitely the lotion. I’m not usually a huge lotion fan, especially when it’s scented (I prefer to stick with a nice thick Gold Bond lotion) – but this Tree Hut Shea Extra-Rich moisturizing lotion is fabulous, and it’s the perfect size to keep in my purse. Not so small that I’ll run out after 2-3 uses, and not so large that it takes up too much precious space in my purse.
LA Fresh travel nail polish remover wipes – will come in handy, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before.
The h20 aqua firm eye lift concentrate and the Brazen eyeshadow will just not get used. Maybe I’ll throw them in with the Cravebox for whoever wins the giveaway!
My least favorite item is the h20 spa sea salt body wash. It worked fine, but the smell of salt while I was trying to get clean wasn’t what I was expecting or hoping for – I guess I like to stick to the more traditional lavendar, soapy smells.
Don’t forget to enter to win the Pamper Me Cravebox giveaway – contest ends Thursday night!
I sort of like picking out my own products, so I don’t think I’ll ever really get into the whole “box” thing. I mean, I understand you are getting more products for a cheaper price, but it could be a box of products that you really don’t even like. Besides, if I got a subscription to one of these types of things my dorm room would be busting at the seams with beauty products!
For my daily tried-and-true products, I definitely do my own shopping. But I can usually rely on the samples in my birchbox/ipsy for an on-trend eyeshadow, a deluxe mascara, etc. This box just didn’t have anything of use to me, so I’ll stick with what I know works for me!
True. I guess for more trendy kinds of products I could see why it would be a good investment.
